Thank you for your interest in Kats Southern Scents Candles.

About eleven years ago for my birthday, I received a candle making kit. At the time I thought it was a kind and interesting gift, but set it aside for a couple years. Then, in 1997 I started making candles for families & friends We had burned so many candles together that I decided it was time to give it a go. Over the years, I've experimented extensively to finally come up with the perfectly fine-tuned products you see on our site. I create all candles personally at home, where I hand-pour & scent each candle.

Unlike most other candles that burn down the middle, leaving you with lots of waste, mine burn smoothly, consistent, and evenly. The wick I use creates a larger melt pool, leaving you with little or no waste and no messy clean up. You'll notice that in most of my candles the core of the wick is metal, this is a safe alloy core, not lead.
